Well I don't have to worry about how I am going to pay my bills and I sleep good at night and I plan to keep this job until I find something better.

The CAPs program helps people but you have to help yourself. I enjoyed the staff and the counselor and I thank them for a chance.

It was tough meeting even my basic needs, only receiving $294/month. There was no extra money for entertainment, etc.

It was rough because I had my certificate, but I didn't have my P.E.R.C. card, so no one would hire me without that.

I learned how to post my resume on the internet and also how to file and edit.

I am working security. Basically what I do right now is protect The Department of Water sites, overnight. But I hope to get a permanent site soon.
Now that you have a job, how is your life better? What are your future goals?
I can see daylight now, and not have to worry so much about living from month to month. I can put stuff in the lay-away and make payments weekly or bi-weekly. My futre goals are to never be unemployed again.
What would you tell someone about the CAPs program?
Its a good program if you stick with it. I know a lot of people want instant satisfaction when they're unemployed, just as I did when I came to the program, but you have to be patient and let things take their course.
